Musical Guilty Pleasure:

Is there some sort of vocal regiment that you follow?
Vocal Exercises for 30 min to an hour, then I rest for about an hour, then I sing! The rest period is very important. I do this about 2 times a day. I love this book!!! How to Train singers. (BUY) I've learned so many different exercises to work different parts of the voice, and comes with a cd too. It’s perfect.
What has been one of the highlights in ur musical growth?
One of many highlights would have to be Accompanying myself on guitar. I had always written on it, then had my Guitarist play it. We’d Structure it, then he’d play while I focused on singing and the lyrics. Now that I play guitar it’s just so liberating! Another highlight would have to be discovering the music and style of Janis Joplin. I found my voice when I began singing Janis. It just opened up my vocal register to a whole other level. This gave me a feeling of freedom in my voice like I’d never experienced before. I love pushing everything out of the way, so I have enough room to dance, jump, move around and sing. Closing my eyes and letting it GOOO to some Janis is SO Exhilarating! Haha I totalllllly become DriJis.(dRi+Janis= Dri-Jis). YEA! I loose my MIIIIND!!!!
Best concert:
The Mars Volta.
Their such a musical band and their energy is AMAZING!!!! Watching OMAR RODRIGUEZ-LOPEZ and Cedric Bixler-Zavala run across the stage, rocking out with the lights going is such a visual rock and roll moment. (totally just thought of how AMAZING a KISS or Fischerspooner concert would be LOL) I love the sound of Omar’s Voice.
Britney Spears:
Love the way Britney werks the stage; she owns it! Oh! Annnd We Were front ROW! Her dancers had these verticle bars on each corner of the stage; they did flips on it and had the coolest costumes and make up. They were SOOO GOOD! I looove watching dance, and it was just such a fun concert. Plus it was the one where she sang a song with water pouring down from the ceiling of the stage to the bottom (see pic). Freaking Crazy. Loved it.
Regina Spektor:
I remember the first time I saw Regina LIVE... I cried, laughed, and closed my eyes, mesmerized by the melodies and lyrics coming from stage. I’d never heard her song, but hear OF her, so decided to stop by and check out the show. Best decision EVER!!! Regina’s unique voice, sense of humor and amazing songwriting is a one of a kind combination only she owns. She’s great and I can’t wait to get her new record coming out soon.“She writes songs the way a short story writer writes stories…"Why can't I write a song from the point of view of a man or a criminal or an old woman?" Regina’s provocative vocal style, eccentric melodies, and charismatic sense of humor, combined with her prodigious compositions and lyrical twists, create a musical epiphany.” –Andriana Santiago’s Music Review for Pseudo.com
Dresden Dolls:
Wow. The combination of piano and drums, with Amanda’s voice; The stage Performance, the costumes, the lyrics, everything about this band is just BEYOND! To fully understand you just HAVE to attend a show, or go to the site.
Panic! at the Disco:
It's Art coming alive in this colorful living visual spectacle. It's Breath Taking. I love everything about this band and what they're all about and what they are doing. It's been very inspiring towards the music project I'm working on now.
