About Myself
Let me tell you a little bit about myself. I come from a Hispanic background, so most of the food at family function include rice, pork, beans, chicken, some pasta, bread, and a little bit of salad that usually goes untouched. About 3 years ago I went to California for the first time to visit some friends. The week I stayed in San Francisco, I stayed with a friend that was a vegetarian. That whole time we didn’t eat meat! This was a first for me! I was introduced to foods I’d never eaten before. From that point on I was just fascinated with the whole thought of being a vegetarian. But it was still weird for me. It seemed like soooo much work, and just untouchable, very mysterious and foreign… something I just couldn’t do.

So I began researching it. Why are people vegetarians? What are its benefits? The more I looked into it, the easier it was for me to see my life without meat. Meat is a dead animal. Meat doesn't have many, if it has any, vitamins and minerals. “In cooked meat, the fat molecules burst and are carcinogenic. That is true for vegetable oil also, including olive oil. Meat is not a complete protein. There are 8 times the protein deficiencies among meat eaters compared to vegetarians.” First of all it’s SOOO healthy to eat LOTS of fruits and veggies, even if you’re not a vegetarian. A lot of people choose to not eat meat for various reasons! Some because of animal rights, or the knowledge of the disguising horrible process it goes through before it touches your fork; and others, like me, just believe it’s not the healthiest route to go; so I just exempt it from my diet, except approximately once every eight to ten weeks, I’ll have a little piece just because. The health benefits of not eating meat are astounding! During my research I learned about the importance of Digestion, Toxins & their negative effect on the body, the dangers of cooked foods, benefits of Living Foods & Raw Foods, and most importantly Natural Hygiene. Eventually, after much research and thought, I decided to become a vegetarian. But it wasn’t easy. I did it slowly.

First I cut back on meat, and would have it once a week, while eating more veggies @ meals, then I began making fruit and veggies drinks, and eventually I just stopped eating meat altogether, but I still occationally ate fish. After a year, fish was completely out of my diet as well. Meat is the hardest thing to digest. Becoming a Vegetarian or Living/Raw food Eater takes time and getting used to, but all I knew is that I wanted to be as healthy as I possibly could. Too many of my family members have passed from stomach cancer and colon cancer! And why?! Because of the way we EAAAAAAAT!!! DURRRR!!!

Now, 2.5 years later I am a vegan & approximately 85% of my overall diet consists of Raw/Living foods and 15% is cooked, and whatever else. I have fun experimenting with new vegetables, recipes and drinks. I love having at least two 16 ounce green smoothies (meals) a day, lots of veggies, some fruit, nuts, and order chocolate and snacks from places like GoRaw.com.

An amazing book that made everything clear for was Read Fit For Life- a New Beginning. That book seriously taught me SOOOOO MUCH!!! It’s nutz! I still refer back to it very of.
